Faqs

Advanced WasteWater Systems  employs the principle of “aeration” for the reduction of septic tank effluent to an environmentally acceptable quality. Super-Treat “domestic” systems are package plants which typically treat households of up to 10 persons living in permanent residence. Super-Treat “commercial” systems are purpose designed for each particular application, of any size up to 1000 persons.

How dos it work?

Aerated water treatment systems (AWTS) and advanced sewage treatment systems (ASTS) are secondary treatment systems, that is, they involve both anaerobic and aerobic (with oxygen) treatment to a higher level than a primary treatment system, resulting in effluent that is suitable for garden (excluding fruit and vegetables) and landscape irrigation. In other words Water flows through a series of chambers or tanks that progressively treat and filter the wastewater

Stage Type of Treatment Process
Chamber 1 Anaerobic Settlement of solids and anaerobic decomposition
Chamber 2 Aeration Effluent passes through filter to aeration chamber. Pumped in air creates turbulence and aerates effluent
Chamber 3 Clarification Effluent passes through second, finer filter to clarification chamber. Fine sludge particles settle and are pumped back to the first chamber
Chamber 4 Pump-out A submersible pump distributes treated effluent to the disposal field

Do's and Dont's

do's

  • Avoid using strong acids, alkalies, oils and chemicals in your toilet, bathroom, laundry and kitchen (too much can kill off the working “bugs”).
  • Limit the use of water in the dwelling.
  • Use only bio-degradable detergents in the laundry and kitchen.
  • Try to spread wash loads over different days.
  • Try to avoid using the washing machine and shower at the same time.
  • Call your AWWS agent in the unlikely event of an alarm.

Dont's

  • Do not use harsh cleaners such as bleaches an anti bacterial products

  • Do not dispose of condoms or sanitary products or baby wipes down the toilet or house drains.

  • Do not put products such as hairdye, Napisan, Domestos, cooking oils, meths, turps or excessfatsinto the system.

  • If you intend being absent from your premises for a period of up to six months no action is required. Your Advanced WasteWater System system should not be switched off.

  • Mute your alarm without calling your AWWS service agent

Where can Advanced WasteWater System be used?

In unsewered locations, the Advanced WasteWater System is a “go anywhere” system which can be installed:

  • on a new house
  • to an existing house with a single septic tank
  • to an existing house on a pump out system
  • to a riverside shack
  • on any commercial establishment

Advanced Wastewater system Advantages

1. Safely recycles all wastewater into odour-free clean water

2. Reliable noiseless operation

3.Provide a permanent solution to localised septic tank waste disposal
